Beneficial owner (UBO)

Beneficial owner (UBO) is the natural person who ultimately owns or controls a company — directly or through other companies — even if they are not listed as a shareholder.

Under EU and Lithuanian anti-money laundering rules, companies must identify their beneficial owners and report them to the state register, and banks and other obliged entities verify them before starting a business relationship.

Lithuanian: Naudos gavėjas
