UAB (private limited liability company)

UAB is a private limited liability company — the most common legal form for a business in Lithuania, including for foreign founders. Its capital is divided into shares, the shareholders are not liable for the company’s debts beyond their contribution, and the shares cannot be offered to the public.

A UAB can have one or more shareholders (natural or legal persons, residents or non-residents) and is managed by a director (manager). It is registered in the Register of Legal Entities.
