Lietuvos startuoliai

Lietuvos startuoliaiLithuania’s startup ecosystem continues to attract international investment and strengthen its position in the European technology sector. According to the 2025 Dealroom report published by Startup Lithuania in January 2026, Lithuanian startups attracted EUR 220 million in venture capital investment from 77 unique investors during 2025. The total enterprise value of Lithuania’s startup ecosystem reached EUR 16.4 billion, reflecting its development into a competitive technology and innovation hub.

Lithuania has experienced substantial growth in startup investment and technology company valuations over recent years. In 2025, Lithuanian startups raised EUR 220 million in venture capital, compared with EUR 131 million in 2024, representing approximately 68% year-on-year growth. According to the Innovation Agency’s Startup Lithuania division, the total value of the country’s startup ecosystem reached EUR 16.4 billion in 2025. Over the preceding five years, the ecosystem’s value increased approximately 5.9 times, significantly outperforming the average growth rate in Central and Eastern Europe. It is important to note that only publicly announced deals are taken into account, some of them are not published due to confidentiality agreements, and, therefore, are not included in the reports. Another important development in Lithuania’s startup ecosystem is the increasing availability of venture capital, private equity investment and acquisition opportunities. Startups may raise capital through private investment rounds, venture capital funds, strategic partnerships and other financing arrangements. However, private fundraising and acquisitions should not be confused with initial public offerings (IPOs), which involve the public offering of securities and are subject to additional regulatory requirements. The growth of Lithuania’s startup ecosystem has primarily been supported by private investment, venture capital financing and successful technology company expansion.

Lithuanian start-ups were able to quickly cope with the challenges appeared during the pandemic, as well as discover and take advantage of new opportunities. As many activities and communications migrated into the digital space, the technologies developed by startups became even more popular, e.g., remote meetings that facilitated access to foreign investors.

Lithuania’s startup ecosystem has demonstrated substantial growth in company valuations, international investment and technological development. According to the Innovation Agency’s 2025 ecosystem assessment, Lithuanian startups attracted EUR 220 million in venture capital during 2025, with business software companies receiving EUR 160 million, health technology companies EUR 34.7 million and financial technology companies EUR 16 million. These figures demonstrate the increasing diversification of Lithuania’s technology sector and its ability to attract international investors.

According to Versli Lietuva, the total sales of Lithuanian start-ups amounted to EUR 1.33 billion in the first half of 2021. Compared to the same period in 2020, it increased by 162%, i.e. 2.6 times. Meanwhile, exports of goods and services created by Lithuanian start-ups in the first half of 2021 demonstrated the best results and reached EUR 966.8 million limit, which is 192%, i.e. 2.9 times more than in the first half of 2020.

By 2026, Lithuania has established itself as one of the fastest-growing startup ecosystems in Central and Eastern Europe. According to the Innovation Agency’s latest annual assessment, the ecosystem reached a total enterprise value of EUR 16.4 billion in 2025. Venture capital investment increased to EUR 220 million during the year, supported by investments in artificial intelligence, enterprise software, biotechnology and financial technology. However, future investment growth remains dependent on global financing conditions, economic developments and investor confidence.
